Learn Multiplication table in an easy way
In small classes we have learnt the multiplication tables.
We understood that multiplication is the process of repeated addition. When the number increases, the possibility of a wrong product after multiplication is high.
Here you can see an easy way to generate the multiplication table for numbers.
The one thing you need to remember is the
Number | Associated Number (10 - given number) |
---|---|
6 | 4 |
7 | 3 |
8 | 2 |
9 | 1 |
Subtract the magic number from the ones place and add 1 to the tens place of the product in the previus answer.
When subtraction is not possible, use the general principle of borrowing from the adjacent left digit.
Let's generate the multiplication table for
We know, 6 x 1 = 6, write it as 6 x 1 = 06
6 - 4 =
2 - 4 is not feasible, so find 12 -4, 12 - 4 =
8 - 4 =
4 - 4 =
0 - 4 is not feasible, so find 10 -4, 10 - 4 =
6 - 4 =
2 - 4 is not feasible, so find 12 -4, 12 - 4 =
8 - 4 =
4 - 4 =
Here is the table we just generated
6 x 2 = 12
6 x 3 = 18
6 x 4 = 24
6 x 5 = 30
6 x 6 = 36
6 x 7 = 42
6 x 8 = 48
6 x 9 = 54
6 x 10 = 60
The associated number to the multiplication table of eight is
Table | Process |
---|---|
8 x 1 = 8 | |
8 x 2 = 16 | 8 - 2 = 6 (digit at ones place), 0 + 1 = 1 (digit at tens place) |
8 x 3 = 24 | 6 - 2 = 4, 1 + 1 = 2 |
8 x 4 = 32 | 4 - 2 = 0, 2 + 1 = 3 |
8 x 5 = 40 | 2 - 2 = 0, 3 + 1 = 4 |
8 x 6 = 48 | 10 - 2 = 8, 3 + 1 = 4 |
8 x 7 = 56 | 8 - 2 = 6, 4 + 1 = 5 |
8 x 8 = 64 | 6 - 2 = 4, 5 + 1 = 6 |
8 x 9 = 72 | 4 - 2 = 4, 6 + 1 = 7 |
8 x 10 = 80 | 2 - 2 = 0, 7 + 1 = 8 |
The associated number to the multiplication table of nine is
Table | Process |
---|---|
9 x 1 = 9 | |
9 x 2 = 18 | 9 - 1 = 8, 0 + 1 = 1 |
9 x 3 = 27 | 8 - 1 = 7, 1 + 1 = 2 |
9 x 4 = 36 | 7 - 1 = 6, 2 + 1 = 3 |
9 x 5 = 45 | 6 - 1 = 5, 3 + 1 = 4 |
9 x 6 = 54 | 5 - 1 = 4, 4 + 1 = 5 |
9 x 7 = 63 | 4 - 1 = 3, 5 + 1 = 6 |
9 x 8 = 72 | 3 - 1 = 2, 6 + 1 = 7 |
9 x 9 = 81 | 2 - 1 = 1, 7 + 1 = 8 |
9 x 10 = 90 | 1 - 1 = 0, 8 + 1 = 9 |
